Bubbles

It's funny how a homebrewer incorporates his brewing rituals into his daily life.
For example, when I got up this morning at 5 am to get ready for work, my first stop wasn't the bathroom, the closet, or the refrigerator, it was my brew closet to check my fermenter. I knew that the yeast I was using (Wyeast German Ale 1007) has a propensity for building up a huge kreusen and plugging up an airlock; which can lead to an eruption of crud all over the place. This wasn't the case yet, but I could see it was getting close. So, after fitting my bucket with a blow off hose, I was off to start my day. Secure in the knowledge that I would not have to come home to a mess to clean up, and more importantly, a decreased volume of beer.

Cheers
